The telecom industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of the Bulgarian economy. There are currently 3 mobile operators and more than 10 alternative operators. The share of mobile service revenues has already surpassed that of fixed-line services. Nevertheless, mobile penetration is still far below EU levels, which promises the rapid growth to continue in the coming years. Broadband Internet will be another telecom segment that is expected to surge aggressively in the near term.
